The Markup Table is used to figure out a markup from the cost of an item. Therefore you need to type in the cost of the inventory item when first adding so the correct markup can be brought in, displayed, then calculated upon.

 

When you build the markup table, think about the cost. In many cases lower cost items have a greater markup than higher priced items. It is not necessary to have this table, you can always let the default come in from the company setup, or just type in the markup yourself, or zero the markup then type in the retail price yourself.
