RIPCOMPUTER below is a sample name of your main computer. You should go to your main computer and go to the Control Panel or system settings and find the name of the main computer. Be sure you have the login name and password (not PIN) of the main computer handy.

Now we go to our client computer or workstation. From here we again go to Windows explorer and try and find the computer we just shared. Scroll down and click on Network. It might take a minute to refresh.

Notice that under the network you'll see the RIPCOMPUTER we just shared along with the wrench folder. If you see this, things are going well. Click on the Wrench Folder under the RIPCOMPUTER (or whatever your computer name was of course).

*** If you don't see the wrench folder under the RIPComputer (the main computer name), then you can still right click on RIPCOMPUTER and map network drive, select W, then type in \\RIPCOMPUTER then click on the browse button, and select the wrench folder. You may need to sign in with the user account and password from the RIPCOMPUTER.

Now Right click on the Wrench folder and click on Map Network Drive. Then you'll see this screen.

We like to go with Drive W: to be consistent. Click on the drop down arrow for the drive and pick W:, reconnect at sign-in should be checked, then click Finish.

Sometimes you can't get to this screen because you'll have to sign in with your network credentials, usually the sign-in on the server computer. You can bypass that in many cases by going to the server and go into your network settings and telling it not to require a password. (Not a good idea for security purposes.) It may be more difficult to do on Windows 11, so make sure you have an account user name and password on the main server computer available.

Once you've got this working, just go to the shortcut for Digital Wrench on the screen (not on the server just the workstation), right click and click on properties. Change the start in to W: and change the Description under General to read Digital Wrench WS. That way the shortcut doesn't get overwritten during an update to Digital Wrench.
