Sync Vehicle Tags causes the program to sync the vehicle tag in the RO to the vehicle tag in the customers vehicle. Remember, the vehicle in the RO was 'copied' from the customers vehicle, so the 2 can have different information. If you don't want it done automatically, there is a hidden button on the work order screen to copy the tag from the RO to the customer.
Synch Odometer/Hours works the same as vehicle tags, except that if you put in a higher odometer/hours reading than the actual vehicle has, the vehicle odometer will be updated (if this is check-marked). Again, if you don't want it done automatically, there is a hidden button on the work order screen to copy the odometer/hours from the RO to the customer. This is the End odometer/hours not the start odometer/hours.
Store Msg in Notes adds any text message you send from the RO Table to be stored as a note along with the Date and Time the message was sent.

These are alerts that can be turned on or off. If there are less parts than required when adding a part to an RO, then the alert will show the quantity and the true quantity. The true quantity takes into account how many have been ordered and how many are on hold.

This work if you are logging labor hours. When you log labor hours, the program keeps track of your Actual hours worked on any particular labor item. Actual Hours to billable hours is the percentage of how close the actual hours are to the billable hours. If your actual hours were 10 and your billable hours were 10, then you would be at 100%. If your actual hours were 15 and your billable hours were 20, then your percentage would be 75%. In other words you have worked 75% of the time allotted. So, you can set a percentage to be yellow, and a percentage to be red. That way you are alerted when you really need to take a look at these hours figures and decide if the tech needs to speed up, or call the customer and let them know it will be more than anticipated.
The lights show on the actual RO Labor screen, and all labor items actual and billing hours are totaled together so you can see the lights on the Main RO Browse Screen.
Limit Pre-paid
![]()
When you first create an RO, you might make a deposit right away. The deposit amount is stored as a Pre-Pay in the customer, and in the RO. Normally this isn't a problem. But, if you were repairing tools for instance, you might want a $20 deposit for each tool. You'd need to make an RO for each tool, then add the $20 for each RO. If you had 5 tools, you'd end up with 5 RO's, and $100 in Pre-Pay. This checkmark tells the program to only apply $20 (the original deposit amount for this RO) out of the Pre-Pay, for this RO, when you're paying it off.
Update Price from PO

If you put a part on a purchase order by dragging and dropping from the RO, then the PO knows about the RO. If this is ticked to Sometimes, when you receive the PO, it will ask you if you want to update the price in the RO. If you tick Always, well, it just happens. We recommend Sometimes, because sometimes you might not want the part in the RO updated.
Due After Completed
![]()
When an RO is completed, there is a due date that gets filled in. This tells the program to add this many days from the completed date to the due date. If due right away, just leave this zero.
Phone and Date Key-In
If you are outside of the US, your phone numbers might be a little different. For this reason, you can make a 'picture' key-in so it will match your country. The easiest way is to put in an @s14. This way it is a free-form number so you can put in any characters, up to 14 characters.
For dates, we have already changed the dates to a picture of @d17, which means the program will get the date picture from windows. So if your dates are backwards, simply change your windows settings for your dates. Do not use settings that include the name of the month, just the numbers of the year, month, and day.
Custom User Lists
There are many places in Digital Wrench that have drop down selections. To save having to add an entirely new file, we've created a file for Custom User Lists. Click Here for more information.
In other news, you can also simply add the items by going directly to that drop-down item wherever it is, and typing in the item. It will then be preserved in this file. However, there is a drawback, and that is if you misspell it, you will have to go back to the Company setup area (here) to fix it. For that reason we don't suggest using Auto Add. Either use Never or Ask.
Huggins Path
If you have Huggins (A cross reference for marine repair), then you can use it from within Digital Wrench. Just select the path where Huggins is located on your computer.
RealTime Path
Real Time Labor guide used to have a CD with their labor times. If you have one of those CD's, you can install it and tell Digital Wrench where to find it. Real Time no longer sells the CD's as far as we know.
Plate to VIN API Key
This is available by signing up with platetovin.com. We don't do the advanced information, we just get the Year, Make, Model and VIN at this time, then you can look up the VIN information from the NTSB using the icon to the right of the VIN.
PT Partner Information
PT is for the Parts Tech Purchasing. We are currently working on this system. When it is available, you will sign up with Parts Tech and they will give you the information to fill in here.
